Privacy policy
This policy covers this website (z-sync.kjell.cc) only. The Z-Sync app has its own privacy policy, which is a separate document.
1. Controller
The controller responsible for processing on this website, within the meaning of Article 4(7) GDPR, is:
2. Short version
- This site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing on your device.
- There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel, and no profiling.
- There are no forms and no user accounts. You cannot submit personal data to us through this site.
- All fonts, images, videos and scripts are served from this domain. Nothing is loaded from Google Fonts, a CDN, or any other third party.
- The only processing that happens is the technical server log of the host that delivers the page.
Because nothing is stored on your device and no tracking takes place, this site needs no cookie or consent banner.
3. Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, a service of Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.
To deliver a page, Cloudflare processes the connection data your browser sends. This necessarily includes:
- your IP address,
- the date and time of the request,
- the address of the page and file requested,
- the amount of data transferred and the HTTP status,
- the referring page, if your browser sends it,
- your browser type and operating system (user agent).
This data is processed to deliver the website to you, to keep it available and stable, and to detect and defend against attacks on it. It is not combined with other data sources, and we do not use it to identify individual visitors. We do not keep our own copy of these logs, and we do not analyse them to build profiles.
Legal basis: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the technically error-free, secure and efficient delivery of this website. Since a purely static page requires no account, no input and no personalised features, and since no profiling takes place, this interest is not overridden by your rights.
Retention: we keep no separate access logs. Cloudflare retains connection data for a limited period for the purposes described above, according to its own retention rules. See the Cloudflare privacy policy for details.
4. Transfer to a third country
Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States, so processing may involve a transfer of connection data outside the European Economic Area. Cloudflare's standard Data Processing Addendum applies to this, and Cloudflare states that it is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, for which the European Commission has adopted an adequacy decision. If that certification were to lapse, Cloudflare relies on the European Union's Standard Contractual Clauses, including supplementary measures. Further details are in the Cloudflare Data Processing Addendum and the Cloudflare privacy policy linked above.
5. Cookies and storage on your device
We do not set cookies, and we do not use local storage, session storage or similar techniques to store information on your device or to read information from it. We do not use any statistics or marketing tools that would do so.
Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies on its own behalf, for example to distinguish normal visitors from automated attack traffic. Such cookies serve solely to protect the site and are exempt from consent under section 25(2) no. 2 of the German Act on Data Protection in Telecommunications and Telemedia (TDDDG). We have no access to them.
6. Fonts, images and videos
This site uses the operating system's own fonts. No web fonts are loaded, so no request is ever made to a font provider.
Images and any videos shown in the feature previews are published as files on this domain and delivered by the host described in section 3. They contain no tracking features and no third-party players. Videos are loaded only when you open a feature preview, and they carry no audio.
7. External links
This site links to external services: the App Store, Google Play, GitHub and kjell.cc. These are ordinary links. No data is transmitted to those providers while you merely view this page; a connection only happens once you click a link, and from that point the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access to the data processed about you (Article 15),
- rectification (Article 16),
- erasure (Article 17),
- restriction of processing (Article 18),
- data portability (Article 20), and
- object to processing based on Article 6(1)(f) (Article 21).
We hold no data that we could match to you personally, since no personal data is ever transmitted to us through this website. Where connection data exists, it is held by the host named in section 3. If you want to exercise a right, write to the address in section 1 and we will respond, or forward your request to the host where that is the correct route.
9. Right to complain
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Article 77 GDPR). The authority competent for the controller is:

10. Automated decisions
No automated decision-making, including profiling within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR, takes place on this website.
11. Do you have to provide data?
There is no legal or contractual obligation to provide personal data. To view this website you do not have to give us anything. However, your browser necessarily transmits your IP address and the request data described in section 3, because a server cannot answer a request without it. If you do not want that to happen, you cannot load the page.
12. Changes
If the way this website works changes, for example if analytics or a third-party video player is added later, this policy will be updated accordingly and the date below will change.
